Hypnosis can be an effective tool to end Sugar Cravings
The addiction to sugar is real! Sugar activates the same pleasure centres in the brain that get activated when people do cocaine. While you eat sugar your brain releases more dopamine and feel good. However this can lead to a cycle of eating sugar to relieve stress, anxiety, boredom, sadness, depression, fatigue, etc., It can be a way to get distracted from feelings we don’t want to feel.
Sugar can also be a long-term habit that may come from childhood. Gathering with the family or friends to celebrate with cakes, cookies, sweets, etc. This programs our minds to eat sugar to enjoy social time and to reward ourselves. Or maybe your mom said to you: “stop crying, here’s some candy”.
Sugar causes inflammation in your body, it increases your risk of developing diabetes, cancer, heart disease, it ruins your teeth, depresses your immune system and makes you age faster.
Here are a few tips:
- Try deep breathing
- Ask yourself if you are hungry before you eat!
- If you are not hungry then how do you feel?
- Sweeten with dates, stevia, monk fruit
- Eat regularly to avoid glucose levels crashing
- Reduce sugar consumption gradually
