Hypnosis and Coaching for Controlling Emotions

There are people who are naturally more laid back and seem to let things slide more easily othan others. What makes this people different? One factor would be genetics, the other one would be environmental factors likes life experiences since childhood, parenting, culture, social network, etc. While we cannot control genetics, we can certainly control our thoughts, feelings and emotions. Emotions are at the root cause of most negative habits like drinking alcohol, smoking, overeating, gambling, shopping too much, playing too much computer games, etc.

However, this is not an easy task since the subconscious mind is programmed to think, react, feel to situations in the same way. How do you change this programming? This is where Hypnosis and Coaching come in. This subconscious programming can be more easily changed during hypnosis since the subconscious mind is more accessible and it is easier to get to the root of the problem.

Here are a few things you can do to get a hold over your emotions:

1.- Try to name what you are feeling. Instead of saying “I feel bad”, try saying “I feel sad, scared, lonely, angry, frustrated, worthless, stressed, guilty, depressed,” etc.

2.- Ask yourself what’s making you feel that way. Are your thoughts based on reality or your own perceptions?

3.- Instead of picking up a bag of potato chips or a cigarrette, stay with the feeling, don’t fight it and do some journaling, deep breathing, meditation, coloring, organize your closet, go for a walk, listen to something uplifting or positive, etc. Do something more constructive that will help you feel better in the long run!
