“Don’t you want to see what happens if you don’t give up?” Fabiola Miguel

I have been able to keep a healthy weight over the years thanks not only to a very healthy plant-based diet but also to a workout routine that I follow.

Weight loss is not as difficult as everybody thinks. Do you know what I have realized over the years? That keeping a healthy weight is just like achieving anything else in life. It requires the same amount of desire, motivation and commitment. If you worked hard to go up the ladder at work, to finish a degree, to be the best mom or dad you can possible be, it means that you have it in you to be healthy. It all comes down to priorities. If you make your health a top priority in life, you will do whatever it takes to achieve just that.

Why do people not make their health a top priority? One of the main reasons is not feeling important or worthy, or thinking that it’s normal to gain weight over the years. Another reason is not taking responsibility, sometimes people say things like: I’m too busy to exercise, I don’t have time to cook, hormonal changes are making me gain weight (although in some cases a thyroid disorder can be to blame) etc.

Good Health is priceless, you can replace a car, a home, get a new job, so maybe  it’s time to rethink our priorities as a society. Some of the wealthiest countries have the highest obesity rates. It’s time to change our paradigm, isn’t it?

Here are some easy Healthy eating tips:

1.- Choose unprocessed nutrient dense foods. Some of the best foods you can eat are green leaves like kale, spinach, collard greens, etc., Put them in your smoothie, soups or salads.

2.- Eat healthy fats. Fat is not bad contrary to what a lot of people think. Our bodies need fat to make hormones, to absorb fat soluble vitamins like A,D,E, K. and to maintain the integrity of cell membranes in our bodies. Avocados, nuts and seeds like walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds are some of my favorite sources of fat.

3.- Do you crave sweets? everyone craves sweets every now and then. Processed sugar is unnecessary for human health, the only kind of sugar we need is the one from fruits and vegetables. I love dates, berries, apples, sweet potatoes and 80% dark chocolate once in a while.

4.- Eat small portions only when you are physically hunger. Some people need to retrain their brains to differentiate the hunger signal from emotional cravings and to stop eating when 80% full.

Hypnosis can help increase confidence, self-esteem, motivation and desire to look and feel your best. Self-limitations can hold people back from doing this and with Hypnosis we can get to the root of the problem so you can eat healthy, think less about food, eat small portions, feel fuller, eliminate emotional eating and more.
